The Kouign Amann: Symbol of Breton cuisine

The Kouign Amann is the symbol of Breton cuisine, a puff pastry that we make using traditional methods and semi-salted churned butter.

It is eaten after being slightly warmed in the oven to bring out its full flavour.

La Maison Larnicol was founded in 1985 in Brittany. This is the story of one man's passion: Georges Larnicol, a master pastry chef blessed  with a creative mind. Georges's adventure began in 1985 with a pastry shop. In 1993, he was awarded "Meilleur Ouvrier de France"(MOF) and his business continued to thrive. Today we make many different sweet things at Maison Larnicol: chocolates made with pure cocoa butter, biscuits and cakes, and - of course – our famous Kouignette®. The human touch always lies at the heart of our métier, based on craft expertise: union between the mind and the hand.
