SUCESORES DE HERMANOS LOPEZ (ACEITES GRUPO SHL)

Although Sucesores de Hermanos López exists as it is since 1978, the origins of this familial company date back to 1845. It was then that from a small – not even one hectare – olive plot, a patrimony arose, that would grow and consolidate itself along six generations. Today, the old olive-oil mill, built by Antonio López Ortiz in 1918, has been modernized and possesses the most modern ecological continuous system, which does not produce any olive mill waste water. This entails a commitment to commercialize its highest quality products: Morellana, La Laguna Selecta and La Laguna Coupage. The olives, whose juice is the olive oil we offer, belong to our groves located in the south of Córdoba, in the municipalities of Luque and Baena, in a terrain with soft – and sometimes steep – slopes, most of it at the foot of the Sierras Subbéticas Natural Park. Here the two greatest Andalusian olive-producing areas are joining: Jaén, with the olive variety called “Picual”, and Córdoba, where the characteristic variety is “Hojiblanca.” To these two we have to add a third variety, characteristic of Baena Denomination of Origin, and known as “Picuda” or “Carrasqueña”, which produces one of the most exquisite olive oil in the world.
