Picapinos | A different interpretation of the Ribera

Vintage 2022 | Red wine | 12 months in oak barrels and amphorae | Denomination of Origin Ribera del Duero | Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot

This is the winery's masterpiece: a Ribera that combines energy and delicacy, terroir and freshness. It offers a fresh take on Ribera, with fruit taking centre stage and the ageing process balanced between oak and amphora. Intense fruit, refined ageing and precision in every vintage.

Tasting notes: Medium intensity with a bright cherry red colour and violet reflections. The nose shows great complexity with aromas of red and black fruit accompanied by herbal and mineral notes, with the secondary and tertiary aromas well integrated. On the palate, it is dry with balanced acidity and medium tannins, leaving a sweet aftertaste and a long, fresh and elegant finish. It is an excellent wine thanks to its balance, intensity, and persistence.

Yllera Bodegas & Viñedos was founded in the early 70s by the brothers Jesús and Pepe Yllera, fifth generation of a family of winegrowers known as "Los Curros", who attracted by the potential of the Verdejo grape from Rueda were pioneers in the production of the first "modern" Verdejos of this Castilian denomination of origin.

In 1983 the Yllera brothers together with the winemaker and partner of the firm Ramón Martínez launched the Red Yllera on the market, a wine different from the usual one of the area, which has since reaped enormous oenological and commercial success.

Currently, the sixth generation of the Yllera family, together with a great team, runs this winery that in recent years has achieved an unquestionable position in the Spanish and international market thanks to its permanent commitment to innovation and personality and high quality in all its wines.
