Jams and honeys

The prolific range of fruit trees throughout the province helps to have a huge range of options for the transformation into jams of exquisite flavor. Also added is the transformation of vegetables that become innovative accompaniments to main dishes. There are countless varieties of jams made in the province of Granada, all of them natural and delicious. Jams that taste like tradition but also innovation, always maintaining the use of natural ingredients and a natural preservation process.

The honey of Granada is not only important in quantity, reaching 50,000 beehives, it is also important in quality, with the province having its own Regulatory Council, the Designation of Origin of Honey of Granada. In addition, one of the most influential factors in the quality of honey is the abundant local flora, which occupies about 300,000 hectares of forest, where aromatic plants stand out.

There is a documented memory of the long tradition in the manufacture of honey in Granada since texts are preserved by Ibn al-Jathib (1313-1375) who wrote about the abundance in the production of honey in areas that still retain the tradition of obtaining this resource.

In our province there are producers who offer the best quality in their products.
