The longest and best respected tradition in the cure of pork pieces gives Granada, in its own right, an incontestable quality seal as far as ham is concerned. The process of making ham has evolved over the years, but there are three phases that perpetuate the tradition: salting, rest and dry.
The provincial geography records in all its corners dryers with excellent products. But there is the circumstance that in the Alpujarra of Granada has been proudly exhibited for more than two hundred years a seal that certifies the quality with the recognition of Jamón de Trevélez that in 1862 was granted by Queen Isabel II.
In our province there are producers who offer the best quality in their products.
Sabor Granada is an umbrella brand that encompasses products and companies from complementary sectors to promote the knowledge and consumption of Granada's food, its quality, and variety. We work on promotion at professional events with a joint brand image, as well as other supportive measures to promote the growth and improvement of our agri-food companies' indicators.
Sabor Granada, as an entity with its own promotion channels, was established in 2015 and has undergone significant evolution after betting on the professionalization of its development. This decision and the decisive commitment to the project by the Granada Provincial Government have achieved an exponential growth of the brand, both in the number of adhering companies and in its knowledge and visibility.
Currently, there are over 200 agri-food industries participating in this project. This significant number of companies and the climatic characteristics of Granada lead to a great variety of products. At Sabor Granada, you can find everything from subtropical products to typical high mountain products, something that sets us apart from other territories.
