Century Cutlery

Designed by Robin Levien, developed in partnership between Herdmar, Studio Levien, and John Lewis Department Stores, the Century project was presented in 2011 as a tribute and above all celebration of Herdmar centenary. Initially designated as "propeller", had in the movement of the aeroplane engine propellers its main inspiration, allocating to the vertical blade knife the main identity element. With simple lines, created in a flat four millimetres base, Century has on comfort its strongest point. The straight lines contrast with the rounded surfaces, promoting a singular ergonomics that claim for sophistication without missing the essence of its functionality.

 

Founded in 1911, Herdmar stands as an international reference in the art of designing & manufacturing table cutlery, drawing on design and know-how to transform each piece into an expression of style at the table.

With all production based in Portugal, each piece embodies a legacy of excellence, today led by the fourth generation of the Marques family, balancing artisanal heritage with contemporary innovation, with the ambition of elevating the table as a true expression of style.
