WINE MAKING: The grapes from our Viña Olagosa and Salmuera estates, located in San Asensio in La Rioja Alta, arrive at the winery where they are gently pressed. After cold maceration for 24 hours, the clean must is fermented in new French oak barrels. Once the alcoholic fermentation is finished, it is kept in contact with its lees in the barrels for three months.
HARVEST: Harvest 2024 was marked by weather complications and a complicated harvest. Dry winter and early bud break. Spring with little rainfall and summer with storms at the beginning and moderate temperatures in June and July. The high temperatures in August, with higher than usual night-time temperatures, and the rain in the first fortnight of September had a negative influence on the health of the grapes. The work carried out in the field and later in the winery was important to reverse the situation. One of the most complicated harvests in Rioja in recent memory.
