Contest Rules
The prestigious Italian slicer manufacturer Berkel and the Salamanca-based double montanera Iberian ham brand Arturo Sánchez are searching for the “Best Montado Iberico by Arturo Sánchez and Berkel 2026” at the 39th Salón Gourmets.
Six contestants had to offer their best creations with Arturo Sánchez's fresh and demonstrated their skill with the Berkel slicer.
Participants had 20 minutes to prepare their entry and had to choose between making a cold or hot montado, informing the organizers of their choice in advance. There was three finalists in each category, who also had to demonstrate their skill with the Berkel Volano slicing machine, which they used to slice the ingredients as they prepare their montados.A jury of professionals closely monitored the entire process, taking into account, in both categories, aspects such as creativity and originality, speed in preparing the montado, skill in using the Berkel Volano slicer, and the flavor of the ingredients used.The winner of the Best Cold Montado received a prize of 1,000€ and a selection of Arturo Sánchez products.The winner of the Best Hot Montado received a prize of 1,000€ and a selection of Arturo Sánchez products.
