COOPER CELLARS - VINOS DEL VIENTO

Michael Cooper of Santa Barbara, California has made wines in several wine regions of Spain, especially in Aragon, particularly in Campo de Borja where he's built his own winery and collaborates closely with others in the appellation. His first project was Vinos del Viento, named after the strong wind, the Cierzo, which can reach over 50 km/hour. True to his philosophy of combining innovation and tradition, he makes different wines, with a different look and with their own personality, capable of expressing the identity of the region through the varieties, native yeasts and specific terroir of each plot. Michael has been a pioneer in the area in making wines from single vineyards with old vines, which as he says, are “unique treasures to preserve and share with the world”. Currently his vineyards are in organic conversion and are cared for with biodynamic preparations. All the wines in the Los Angeles line follow the “Vins Méthode Nature” guidelines as do several other Wines of the Wind such as his orange wine “Amber” and his new ancestral sparkling “Wanna Be”. Michael's creations are special and reflect the delicate aromas and flavors of unique terroirs, without intervention.
