Clarete | D.O. Cigales | Old-vine Field Blend | Fermented in Spanish woods · 8 months on lees
Liala Clarete 2020 originates from 90-year-old vineyards located in Pedrahita and Matallana, in Mucientes, rooted in limestone and stony soils that provide freshness, tension and depth. Cultivated as a traditional field blend —Albillo, Garnacha Tinta, Tempranillo, Verdejo, Godello, Garnacha Gris, Palomino and Garnacha Tintorera— all varieties are hand harvested and co-fermented after an extended maceration.
Vinification takes place in Spanish wooden casks (acacia, chestnut and cherry), where the wine develops distinctive nuances, followed by 8 months of ageing on lees to enhance texture and complexity. With this wine, Sergio Vaquero seeks to pay tribute to the historic identity of Cigales clarete, reinterpreting it through a contemporary vision.
Delicate salmon-pink in colour, the nose reveals sweet fruit, citrus notes and subtle hints of fresh strawberry, accompanied by an elegant spicy imprint. On the palate, it is fresh, silky and harmonious, with volume, balance and an unusual depth for a clarete, leading to a long, gastronomic finish that honours the memory of its origins.
Bodegas Sinforiano is a family winery founded in 1966 by Sinforiano Vaquero and Daniela Gómez, continuing a long tradition of winegrowers. Sinforiano was also one of the driving forces behind and a founding member of the Cigales D.O. Today, their children — Juan Antonio, Miguel, Pilar and Sergio — the fourth generation of the family, lead the winery with the commitment to preserve and carry the family’s winemaking legacy into the future.
Our vineyards are located in the Pisuerga Valley and on the slopes of the Montes Torozos, at elevations between 750 and 800 metres above sea level. The diversity of soils — clay, limestone, sand and gravel — provides freshness, structure and a strong expression of origin.
Rosé is our hallmark specialty. We see it as a category with its own identity: versatile and with great creative potential, capable of innovation and of competing at the highest level. For this reason, we produce eight different styles, ranging from fresh and vibrant profiles to wines of greater complexity and depth. Our range is completed by white and red wines, as well as a sparkling wine produced using the traditional method, the first of the Cigales D.O.
We craft each of our wines with the aim of authentically expressing the character of the vineyard and our origin.
