Bodegas Cepa 21 is the most personal project of José Moro, the third generation of a family dedicated to winemaking. It was born from a deep respect for the Ribera del Duero and the winemaking legacy of a lifetime spent among barrels, with the aim of crafting distinctive wines in a region that, for many years, had remained focused on a harsher, more structured style, designed primarily to accompany hearty meals.
As José Moro states: “If you understand wine, you know wine.” This idea is at the heart of Cepa 21, a way of democratizing Ribera del Duero wines without sacrificing the quality provided by the region’s privileged conditions and the meticulous care in every detail. Tastes and consumption trends have evolved, and Cepa 21 evolves with them. Always starting from respect for the vineyard, the harvest, and the winemaking process, but also attending to a new type of consumer who seeks to enjoy wine as an experience.
