Biotuna was founded in 2011 after more than ten years of experience in the fishing sector and in the research of the fascinating world of tuna. From the very beginning, we have worked with a clear objective: to select, grade, and market tuna and other species of the highest quality, respecting the product, the sea, and those who place their trust in us. Our team was trained where it all begins: at sea. We started our journey in bluefin tuna farms and continued to grow within tuna fishing fleets, gaining deep knowledge of the product and every stage of the process.

Today, we operate modern facilities in Totana (Murcia), equipped with state-of-the-art ultra-freezing systems at –60 °C. This technology allows us to optimize our processes and guarantee a product that fully preserves its original qualities—flavor, color, aroma, and texture—ensuring maximum freshness at all times. At Biotuna, we control every stage of production, from origin to final product. This thorough oversight, combined with the use of advanced technologies, enables us to deliver a consistent quality standard tailored to our customers’ needs.

In addition, we are firmly committed to sustainability and innovation. We support responsible management of marine resources and aquaculture, operating under the standards of the MSC and ASC certifications, which guarantee sustainable fishing and aquaculture practices. We believe in a model of development that protects the sea today so it can be enjoyed tomorrow.
