The foundation of Licores Riska dates back to 1952, when Antonio Rivillas Casado began to commercialise anisette that he himself distilled in a copper still. Thus began the history of 'Anís Flor de Jaén'. In 1958, production moved to its current location on what is now the Autovía de Andalucía, Km. 324, and production was expanded to include coffee and cocoa liqueurs. It was during these years that the name "LICORES RISKA" was born.
In 1971, Alfonso Rivillas Jurado joined the company and took over the management, strengthening and modernising the company and broadening the range of products, many of which are part of the current catalogue. In 2003, Alfonso himself, in continuous improvement of the company, implemented a Quality Management System endorsed by the UNE-En ISO 9001:2008 standard.
When Alfonso Rivillas passed away in 2013, his wife Maribel Bonachela took over the management of the company. During this time, important changes took place within the company. There was a big change in strategy and marketing. The logo, labelling and bottling of the products were redesigned. Until then, Riska was only present in the HORECA channel and it is from these changes that Riska gained access to large-scale distribution: Carrefour, El Corte Inglés, Grupo Luís Piña, Alcampo, E-Leclerc (Madrid and Andorra) and Mercadona, and in 2018 Licores Riska obtained the highest certification in food safety worldwide, IFS.
