Respect for tradition is the basis of the cultivation of the lemon in the Sorrento Peninsula, a typical product, unique in Italy and in the world, which has been awarded Protected Geographical Indication I.G.P., an important guarantee of the quality of the raw material. It is an oval lemon, medium to large in size, with a particularly succulent straw-yellow flesh and a peel with a very special fragrance, due to the richness of the essential oils present. It is cultivated, under the supervision of the Consorzio del Limone di Sorrento I.G.P., from Vico Equense to Massa Lubrense in soils overlooking the sea rich in volcanic elements, according to the traditional method of pergolas and “pagliarelle.” No chemicals are used on the fruits, which, by settling on the peel would alter the taste and aromaof the derived products.Limoncello di Sorrento from Organic Farming is produced with the use of Organic raw materials (only lemons ripened in the exceptional microclimate of the west Sorrento coast) and prepared according to strict specifications approved by the Consortium for the Control of Organic Products.The safety of authenticity meets the flavor of the Mediterranean
