Wine is the star of this year's Gourmets Round Table, which this year commemorates the 40th anniversary of the Gourmets Wine Guide. Under the slogan ‘The expression of terroir’, prestigious wineries with a presence in different wine regions explained the territory of origin of each of them, addressing questions such as: what made them opt for other areas/regions/countries, how the identity of the terroir is transmitted to the consumer and whether identity implies an increase in costs and, therefore, an increase in the final price. All this will be moderated by Almudena Alberca, Spain's first female Master Wine and Ignacio Crespo, director of the Gourmets Wine Guide.
The speakers were:
Alma Carraovejas - Pedro Ruiz Aragoneses - CEO
CVNE - María Urrutia - Marketing Director
Ramón Bilbao - Rodolfo Bastida - General Manager
Tempos Vega Sicilia - Gonzalo Iturriaga de Juan - Technical Director
At the end of the Round Table there was a tasting (from 17:00 to 17:45) in which 2 wines from each of the speakers will be presented, expressing the terroir from which they come, travelling from Rioja to Rías Baixas with touches of Hungary.
The wines to be tasted were as follows:
