GOFIO LA PIÑA is a family company, founded in 1957 in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain) that produces roasted and ground cereals. The result of this roasted process and subsequent griding of cereal grains is a 100% natural product with a texture in powder, fine, soluble, and instant (no need to cook) with a high nutritional value, that, in Canary Islands, receive traditionally the name of Gofio.
Our company combines the tradition and innovation having and industry that allow us to produce a broad range of gofios, depending on the cereals used (Maize, Wheat, Oat, multicereals, ecologic cereals) having a great productive capacity. Also, we develop other complementary products. (Snacks and bars).
The Gofio in any of its varieties is a product with a high versatility. It can be an ingredient of the Canary Islands gastronomy, but out of the traditional dishes, it is used mostly as a breakfast cereal with the coffee, milk, or yogurt. Also is a great complement for smoothies and fruits and has an extended used as confectionery and bread making ingredient. Also, other industries consume the product for different kinds of production process (cheese factories, infant feeding, ready meals, etc.)
