It is a product obtained from fresh, tender shoots of the species Asparagus officinalis L., which have been packed in containers with an appropriate governing liquid, hermetically sealed and subjected to a heat treatment that guarantees the commercial sterility of the product. The term ‘whole asparagus’ refers to shoots consisting of head and stalk, the length of which is 12 cm or more.
