Legend has it that God Bacchus himself, admired by wonderful albarizo lands, near the Guadalquivir river and on the edge of the then Ligustino lake, decided to create the city of Lebrija. The very God of wine saw in our lands the ideal environment for making the so-called nectar of the gods. This great story dazzled the founder of our winery and encouraged him to follow in the footsteps of a tradition as ancient as that of our town, that of producing quality wines. Bodegas González Palacios was founded in 1960. It is included in the Lebrija Quality Wines DOP and is among the Andalusian wineries with the most international recognition. It is backed by the numerous awards obtained for its different wines in competitions from all over the world. Our company firmly believes that a winery must take into account its history but it must also evolve with the times and create wines that the consumer likes. For this, it is essential to be surrounded by a prepared human team that loves wine just like God Bacchus himself. We are always in continuous evolution, researching new wines or improving new production methods. Overo, Frasquito Solo palomino and Lebrija Old, are wines that are creating their place in the gourmet sector. We currently have 25 hectares of vineyards of the white, palomino, muscat and sauvignon blanc varieties and of syrah, tempranillo and petit verdot reds. The geographical location of our vineyards are largely to blame for the uniqueness and difference of our wines, located on a hill in front of the Guadalquivir marshes (former Tartessian Gulf), and without any geographical accident with the sea, allows the air from the Atlantic reach our vineyards and impregnate it with its salinity, which will later be transmitted to our wines, all this reinforced by the albarizo lands that undoubtedly transmits its personality as well. The average height of the vineyard is around 80 meters above sea level. We make generous, white, red and sweet wines, all of them with numerous recognitions in different international competitions. In short, we are a unique winery with unique wines, a Designation of Origin for a single winery and located in the city of Dios Baco. We think that we have a lot to teach the rest of the world, our history, our culture, our environment and our wines are enough argument to captivate the visitor.
