WINEMAKING: The grapes are pressed, destemmed and the must undergoes a cold debourbage for 24-48 hours. Afterwards, we rack to a stainless steel tank where it ferments at low temperature. Before the AF is completely finished, we bottle and cap the wine/must and it will be in bottle with its days for 18 months. After 18 months, we prepare the bottles for manual disgorgement. The tirage is done with a wine that has been aged in used oak barrels since the first vintage. This barrel will be refilled each year, in a system that resembles the soleras of Jerez.
AGEING: 18 months on its lees in bottle. PRODUCTION: 288bt (2,000bt vintage 2023)
TASTING: Golden yellow color, clean and bright. Aromatically, notes of white flowers, pears and quince predominate. With time in the glass, the nose develops and nuances of dry stone appear. On the palate the bubbles are fine and well integrated, with a medium length typical of the ancestral method. The finish is saline, giving it length and a sensation of freshness that invites further drinking.
ANALISYS: Alcohol content: 13% pH 3.3 Total sufur: VINO SIN ADICIÓN DE SULFOROSO Total acidity: 5.6g/l Sugars: <2g/l
Agro-Urdiense is a family winery with roots in Villanueva de Ávila, being the fifth generation of winemakers, with a project based on a model that has as its objectives and values the respect for nature and the expression of the uniqueness of the Garnacha grape and the land. It aims to maintain artisanal production methods and a relentless pursuit of product quality offered by our vineyards with granite soils and higher rainfall, planted at an altitude of almost 1070 m in the Sierra de Gredos in the years 1912, 1942 and 1970, all of them worked manually and fertilized with organic matter. The project also focuses on the creation of wealth in the area of origin and active participation in social and cultural initiatives. As a result, we aim to maintain controlled production, bottling an average of less than 10,000 bottles of each vintage each year.
The highest production is of our red Urdiense wine, with an average of 3000bt/year
