Since the I Taller de los Sentidos in the year 2000 the purpose has always been that non-professional could known the traceability of the food that was shown at differents workshops at Salon Gourmets.The Children's workshops, were developed with such objetive aimed at schoolchildren between 7 and 10 years old from the Community of Madrid. Children learn about the product in a closer way, seeing, touching and smelling as well as learning the basic principles of a healthy diet and of course, tasting their work, the funniest part of the workshop.
During the 37th edition of Salon Gourmets, students will enjoy a healthy and balanced breakfast at the Tierra de Sabor Workshop / Castilla y León, consisting of a toast of Iberian ham DOP Guijuelo with tomato and EVOO, strawberries and whole milk, all products protected under the region's seal of guarantee. In the Galician Honey Workshop / Xunta de Galicia, schoolchildren will learn how honey is obtained and the materials used to make it. The Cheese Workshop / GourmetQuesos, already a classic at the SG, aims to bring cheese closer to the students by showing them the different types, production methods and origins. Finally, the Bread Workshop / Horneo Fresh: where children will learn how to make this product that is so present in the Mediterranean diet.
