Small in size, Big in flavor! Picota del Jerte

The Jerte Picota is a cherry native to the Jerte Valley, in the north of Extremadura, where it has been traditionally grown since the 17th century. The Jerte picotas are cultivated between mountains of more than 2,000 meters of altitude, in fertile lands, irrigated by streams of crystal clear waters and breathing pure air. When they have the optimum degree of maturity, the pillory is harvested in an artisanal way, by hand and with chestnut baskets, following a secular tradition. Later, the Jerte picotas are selected at the foot of the tree, one by one, for final packaging and distribution to the consumer.
