Ground sweet paprika is an ingredient widely used in Spanish cuisine. It is the powder obtained from dried red pepper. It provides an aromatic, sweet touch and a reddish color to dishes. It is used in meat stews, fish stews, rice dishes, soups and stir-fries. It is also ideal for preparing octopus á feira, Riojan-style potatoes, patatas bravas, chorizo, sobrasada and dishes from Extremaduran cuisine.
