Currach is a single malt whisky crafted with a new and innovative production method, making it the world's first whisky to utilize barrels charred with different types of seaweed. It comes in two different versions, one made with Irish Atlantic seaweed and kombu seaweed, and another with wakame seaweed. These seaweeds are dried and then used in the charring process of the barrels where this particular Irish single malt finishes its maturation process. This unique barrel imparts a distinctive and unique whisky with a delicate umami flavor.
