It is the variety that dominates all of Celler Kripta's blends. Macabeo-based cavas have a finer, more delicate and fresher profile. From their great ageing capacity without denoting wineness, complex but agile and fresh cavas result, capable of enhancing all the singularities of the vintage and the variety. Vintage 2017. A year marked by an unusual lack of rain, with only 240 litres throughout the year. The result is a smaller harvest, especially of xarel.lo. However, the grapes had a high concentration of sugars, resulting in a much more aromatic and fruity wine than in previous harvests. Aged with its yeasts for 6 years at a constant natural temperature of 17ºC.
Almost half a century ago, Agustí Torelló Mata made the first bottle of Kripta Origen with the aim of creating one of the best cavas in the world. Currently, the second generation of the Torelló Sibill family, Gemma and Àlex Torelló, general manager and winemaker and head of viticulture at Celler Kripta, remains committed to their father's ideal. This is a story that can only be explained through the profession as winegrowers and winemakers. Of esteem for the land, dedication and commitment to excellence. The history of Celler Kripta is the vocation that is perpetuated, generation after generation, making a shared dream come true.

We believe in native varieties as authentic transmitters of the typicity of a specific territory, climate, geology and vintage. A firm belief in the uniqueness of native varieties as true representatives of territorial authenticity is essential to produce wines that uniquely express the essence of the place from which they come.

In our incessant search for authenticity, we remain faithful to the traditional method, we work only with native grapes adapted to the territory, we bet on Macabeo as the ideal varietal for long aging, we ferment with our own yeasts, we vinify 100% on the property and we consider the passage of time as the only way to complexity. Inalienable is everything we have never wanted to give up.
