GRAPE VARIETY: Tinta del País 100%

SOIL: Arcillian soil with sandy layers,very compact in the upper part of the plot.

CLIME: A warm winter with a lot ofrainfall followed by a spring again of abundand rainfalldelayed both shoot and flowering. A warm and drysummer endured an optimal maduration of the grapes.,they could be picked with an excellent phenolicripeness.

VINEYARD: The grapes have been selectedexclusively in the vineyard "Valdepalacios" (1 ha), a plotwith more than 84 years old bush vines, sloping down tosoutheast; Production: 3.500 kg/ha.

HARVEST: Hand picked on september, 29th2019. The grapes were destemmed and they fermentedusing only the yeasts of the grapes; total macerationperiod: 12 days.

AGING: The malolactic fermentation ranin new barrels of French oak, and subsequent aging inthe same barrel for 14 months and cement deposit for 6months.

BOTTLING: On July, 1th, 2021

PRODUCTION: 2496 bottles, 100 magnums

BODEGA:   “LA FAMILIA” Bodegas y Viñedos Gallego Zapatero is a family run winery deeply rooted in a vinegrower’s history which elaborates wine using uniquely grapes of their own vineyards. Both the vineyards and the winery are situated in Anguix, in the ancient centre of the Denominación de Origen Ribera del Duero    

VINEYARDS.: “LOS PILARES DE ESTE PROYECTO” The nine plots run by the winery - Valdepalacios, San Miguel, Otero, La Morris, Camino Viejo, Molino, La Nava, Dujos,La Cañada,Fuentecojo and San Miguel 2) – are entirely situated in Anguix. The overall fifteen hectares of vineyards show perfectly the diversity of various types of soil, orientations , forms of training, altitudes, and ages of the vines.  Using the traditional, organic way of cultivating vines results both in low yields as well as in a high quality of the grapes, which form the base of our wines: YOTUEL
