Powerful, saline and elegant: our state wine.
This wine comes from the vineyard Las Comas, hence its name. Bush vineyards planted in 1910 on limestone and stony soils, what has contribuited to a unique and very particular version of the Verdejo grape from Rueda. Finca Las Comas is a powerful and unctuous wine, aged in oak foudres. It shows outstanding elegance and full body. As strong points: hints of aromatic herbs, fennel and subtle nuances of citrus fruit. Made only in exceptional vintages.
Vineyard
Grape comes from traditional organic bush vineyards with a total surface area of 2.43 hectares located in the village of La Seca, on limestone and pebbly soils. These grapes are collected by hand in 20 kilos plastic boxes, what allows a ?rst selection in the ?eld.
Winemaking process
After a second selection process on sorting tables, one by one, grape is cold macerated for 12 hours. The wine ferments and ages with its own lees in 2250-liter foudres for 12 months.
At the top of a moor and in the heart of the Rueda, our history and our winery were born. Surrounded by a flat landscape, with stony soils and a lot of history in its vines. The Verdejo grape and our actions has defined our life, our wines and our future.
We have five varietal Verdejo wines (José Pariente Verdejo, Fermentado en Barrica, Cuvée Especial, Finca Las Comas and 25 Años en Barrica) and two Sauvignon Blanc wines (José Pariente Sauvignon Blanc and Apasionado de José Pariente, the latter being a wine sweet). In parallel, since 2012, we have an artisanal project based on three premises: differentiation, territory and selection, Bodegas Prieto Pariente. A brand under which red and Viognier wines are made, artisanal and with a great personality. After 25 years of experience we continue working, innovating and wanting to offer you the best of our land.
