The story of the Winery started in 1995 in Ribera del Duero. It all started in the 15th century historic underground cavern below the restaurant El Lagar de Isilla in Aranda de Duero. There, at depth of 12 metres, the Zapatero Pinto family elaborated the first 50,000 bottles of wine which today serves as a reference for the 250,000 bottles now produced annually.
The success of the wines produced by Lagar de Isilla made the Zapatero Pinto family think about opening a new winery. The Enological Complex in La Vid was then constructed on a block of land with a colonial building dating from 1890. First the winery was constructed, the gourmet shop and then the hotel and last the Spa.
In recognition of their work, the Zapatero Pinto family have been awarded by the organization Rutas de Vino de España, the Award for Enotourism Merit.
The winery is part of the old building and has been constructed using materials from the period such as wood and stone. It consists of five warehouses and a social area with offices, a wine tasting room and a porch decorated with farmyard tools and tables typical from La Ribera del Duero.
Next to the winery also within the colonial block you will find The Boutique Hotel **** and its restaurant La Casona de La Vid, where you can enjoy our wines accompanied by the best products from the area.
