EVOO Somontano 100% Picudois a full-bodied Olive Oil with fresh fruit notes and intense bitterness

Picudo Olive variety is commonly mistaken with Picual, but there are notable differences between the two varieties. Picudo variety is originally from Baena (Córdoba) and the Noguero Family has introduced the variety in their Olive Groves giving the special flavor of north Spain to this exceptional variety of south Spain.

Noguero Somontano’s Monovarietal Picudo Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a full-bodied Olive Oil with fresh fruit notes, complemented with intense bitterness and spiciness, both of them persistent in the palate.

Noguero Somontano Picudo Olive Oil is perfect for cooking gazpacho, emulsions and homemade tomato sauces. It is also perfect for garnishing all kinds of seafood and fish.

Aceites Noguero, founded in 1931,  is a family-owned business dedicated to the production, bottling and distribution of Extra Virgin Olive Oil. We are located in Barbastro, in North Spain at the base of the Pyrenees. The Noguero Family has a long history tied to local farming and Olive Oil production for four generations.

In 1954, Aceites Noguero registered the Somontano brand and started bottling its olive oil under the new brand. In 1976 the Noguero family built a new mill where we are able to combine tradition and innovation as we look after every step of production.

At Noguero we have a strong commitment with the Somontano region as well as with biodiversity. This is why we have assembled an exclusive selection of single-varietal olive oils from native olive varieties of the Somontano region. Our selection is complemented with the best national and international olive varieties.

We currently produce our “Somontano” Extra Virgin Olive Oil, as well as 7 different single-varietal olive oils, crafted from of the following varieties: Arbequina, Empeltre, Verdeña, Royeta, Blancal, Picudo and Frantoio.
