IGP CABRITO DE EXTREMADURA
The IGP Cabrito de Extremadura covers the breeds Verata, Retinta, Florida, Malagueña, Murciano-Granadina, Blanca-Andaluza, Cabra de las Mestas or Serrana and Payoya, as well as crossbreeds between them. The area of origin is Extremadura. The goats are fed on mother's milk and cereals authorised by the C.R. They are monitored by the C.R.'s Technical Services at all stages of production. The age at slaughter is less than 50 days for the suckling kid and less than 90 days for the kid. The weight of the carcasses is 6 kg for the suckling kid and 9 kg for the kid. Suitable carcasses are identified by numbered labels on each leg with the IGP logo.
