White tuna (Thunnus alalunga), also known as Albacore or LongfinnedTuna, is a blue fish belonging to the tuna family. The belly is the part of the tuna located in the ventral area of the fish and is characterized by its higher proportion of fat, its gelatinous and laminated flesh and its intense flavor.
Frinsa's white tuna belly is extracted from specimens caught during the fishing season, known as "Costera del Cantábrico", using sustainable fishing methods. The canned white tuna belly, is made with whole pieces of ventresca, without filleting, which keeps the fat between the slices intact and gives it a smoother texture. To finish, only olive oil is added, which gives it an extraordinary and special flavor that improves over time.
