Euskal Gatza is born, the high quality salt of the Basque Country certified with Eusko LabelJune 10, 2021Euskal Gatza is a spring salt produced in Salinas de Añana and Leintz Gatzaga through a system of artisanal production and sustainable with the environment.The two salt pans produced 150 tons of spring salt and 20 tons of salt flower in 2020.HAZI will be the certification body that ensures that the product identified with the Eusko Label meets all quality requirements.The Eusko Label family of products is seasoned from today with the incorporation of Euskal Gatza, a high quality salt produced, classified and packaged in a sustainable and artisanal way in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country. Euskal Gatza certifies the salt produced in the saltwater springs of the Salt Valley in Salinas de Añana, in Álava, and Leintz Gatzaga, in Gipuzkoa.

The Salt Valley of Añana Foundation is the non-profit-making institution in charge of enhancing this salt landscape and promoting social development in the area. Añana Salt is produced ensuring the sustainable development of Salt Valley and respecting its heritage and environmental values. All the revenue from visitors and the sale of salt is used for the recovery and maintenance of the valley.
