The President of the cooperative Santísimo Cristo del Humilladero de Medina de las Torres, Francisco Javier García Albújar, has collected at a gala in Madrid the diploma accrediting the Silver Medal of the 3rd Edition of the International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Awards Virtus Contest Lisbon 2021. For Francisco Javier García Albújar, this award recognizes the work of the entire cooperative and its partners who have been working for more than 62 years to produce an EVOO like this one. A pride and satisfaction that encourages them to continue working for the future of the Cooperative.Contributa Ecológica is the Cooperative's latest bet, an EVOO qualified as GREEN FRUIT and BALANCED OIL.  Being Ecological, they are treated by sustainable means from their production in the olive grove to their extraction in the mill. It is the star product and the most demanded.
The Cooperativa Santísimo Cristo del Humilladero was born in Medina de las Torres in April 1958, and is currently made up of more than 230 members, from the town and from the entire Zafra-Río Bodión region.      Its oil production is mainly made up of the Gordal and Manzanillas varieties, coming from the lands irrigated by the Bodión River and the Arroyos del Valle, Palancares or del Prado.      They are rainfed crops that see their splendor as of October, lands that due to their edaphoclimatic variety are harvested later than in the rest of Spain, thus granting a unique flavor and unbeatable qualities.
