Variety: 100% Tempranillo from pre-phylloxera vineyards.
Bright and clean, very intense violet color. On the nose fresh, elegant and intense with notes of fresh fruit, raspberry, strawberry. On the palate, it is fresh, meaty and very sweet with a balanced and attractive aftertaste.
The Malolactic fermentation has been done in new French Allier oak barrels. Afterwards, it remains 10 more months in barrels with its corresponding racking.
It is an exceptional wine, it needs to be decanted at least 30 minutes before being consumed to be aerated. It pairs with the most important Spanish dishes, with red meat and roasted meats and even with dessert and after coffee.
It is a wine that is taken with gourmet gold (edible gold), the earth, nature and mankind make the fusion of these two antioxicants (the resveratrol of wine and gold): a pleasure for our senses, as well as a powerful source of health.
In Valdelana, the passion of the winemaking has been transmitted generation after generation, from parents to children. Juan Jesús Valdelana, current owner and oenologist, is the fifteenth generation that bets on quality with emphasis on viticulture together with her daughter, Judit and her son Juan. Fully dedicated to research on the winemaking process and creating a new wine concept in Rioja Alavesa.
The winery is located in the historic village of Elciego, where six different roads of the D.O. Ca Rioja come together. Awarded for third time by the prestigious international BEST OF awards, becoming one of the most award-winning wineries in the country, Bodegas Valdelana gives to the tourist the chance to live unique experiences that they will never forget. The last award obtained was in the category of Art and Culture.
The winery is built on six underground stone ashlars, dating from the 15th and 16th centuries. In them, the tourist will discover our Ethnographic Museum with remains of all the cultures and civilizations that have preceded us and have inhabited Rioja Alavesa since the prehistoric time.
But the most important is the wine, that with the biggest care in the elaboration have become one of the most awarded wines in the country. International wine competitions such as “Decanter”, “Concours Mondial Bruxelles”, “Mundus Vini” etc., have compensated our work, rising to the podium of the best Spanish wines. For instance, our premium wine AGNVS de Valdelana Crianza, has been recently awarded this year as the Best Rioja Crianza Wine, a great honor for our family. This year we are specially glad because our wine SEDA DE ORO RESERVA 2016 has been awarded as the BEST TEMPRANILLO IN THE WORLD in the prestigious AWC Vienna wine competition.
