Wine, EVVO, cheese and fish are the selected products which conform the space Spanish Food Universe created by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fishing and Food (MAPA) that never fails to its annual appointment with Salón Gourmets. Five characteristic products of the national gastronomy where professionals prove, year after year, their compromise with quality and environmental respect. Every product gathered within this space is under the cloak of each quality label: Certificate of Origin (DO), Protected Certificate of Origin (DOP), Protected Geographical Location (IGP) or Guaranteed Traditional Specialities (ETG). An amazing space of 1.602 m2 gathers, for the first time, traditional areas in the Salón such as the Wine Tunnel, the EVOO Tunnel and the Cheese Tunnel with the newly created Fish Tunnel.
Surrounded by these four tunnels, a stage where different activities related to all these products take place, such as tastings, talks and show cookings: Don’t let yourself be fooled by cheese, Arguing with cheese and wine, Minority EVOO’s or Fishing Show Cooking are some the proposed activities. This scenery is also the chosen place for the presentation of the Spanish Food Awards bestowed by the MAPA and the Spanish Food Club.
