Spanish Gourmet Pizza Championship by 1906 Red Vintage Beer is held for the third time in Spain by Jesús Marquina together with AEPA (Spanish Association of Artisan Pizza Makers) and Grupo Gourmets. Jesús Marquina, known as "Il Doctore Marquineti", 5 times world champion , will inaugurate the championship, which will include masterclasses, acrobatic exhibitions and a whole competition around the 8 modalities of the championship: classic, pala, taglio, Neapolitan, gluten free, più larga, speed and acrobatics.
During the four days, various masterclasses will be given by the sponsors, such as "Pizza is haute cuisine" offered by Pimentón de la Vera and Atún Fuentes, or by 5 Stagioni with "Pizza in pala alla romana" and "classic and Neapolitan pizza". Jesús Marquina will also offer two masterclasses with Valcoiberia and Negrini/Robo, on dairy products in pizza and the importance of ingredients, respectively. On the last day, Gustavo Marquina will give a masterclass on gluten-free pizzas.
Negrini / Robo, the leading importer and distributor of Italian food and wine, offers its tomato exclusively for the pizza base; 5 Stagioni, a leading company in the production of superior quality flour, provides the contestants with its wide variety of wheat flours for those who make their dough "in situ". Cheese is a must for any self-respecting pizza, and in this case, the experience of four generations of Valcoiberia will provide its Italian mozzarella. For its part, Infrico is responsible for providing the refrigeration cabinets and the tables where the contestants prepare their recipes; the ovens, both wood-fired and light-fired, will be provided by Valoriani and the sustainable pizza boxes will be supplied by Internacional paper.
