Contest Rules
For the first time at Salón Gourmets, a championship of pinchos made with Rioja products. Grupo Gourmets and the Government of La Rioja are organising this competition to showcase the region's produce. The #productoriojano campaign brings the public closer to the way of doing things "Rioja style" and what better way than with a pincho competition in the framework of Salón Gourmets.
12 participants will have to prepare their creations using at least one of the ingredients belonging to the PDO or PGI of La Rioja (PDO Rincón de Soto Pears, PDO Camerano Cheese, PDO La Rioja Oil, PDO Pedroso Walnuts, PDO Anguiano Beans, PGI Chorizo Riojano, PGI Pimiento Riojano and PGI Calahorra Cauliflower).
The jury, made up of professionals from the sector, will evaluate, among other aspects, the quantity of "Riojan" ingredients used in its preparation, the technique, originality and, of course, the flavour.
The winner will receive a prize of €1,500, the runner-up €700 and the third place winner €500. Another novelty is the special prize for the pincho best harmonised with DO Rioja wines produced in the Autonomous Community, the winner of this category will receive a prize of €500, and the organisers will also present all the winners with a selection of riojan products.
