Contest rules

Beyond the traditional sandwich, the reinvention of the ham sandwich, Salon Gourmets and Joselito are looking for the Best Ham Sandwich Joselito, the one that highlights the impeccable and unique flavour of this 100% natural Joselito ham.

Joselito was born in 1868 in Guijuelo and 6 generations later they continue to offer the highest quality that can only be achieved by caring for the animal and its habitat, with the utmost respect, controlling from the genetics of their herd of pigs to their distribution. Joselito ham is present in the world's best restaurants and shops in 56 countries and thanks to its pioneering work in the conservation of the dehesa it is the only agri-food company in the world to obtain the PEFC seal, on the basis of which it has planted 536,831 trees since 2003.

The aim is to find the Best "Joselito" Iberian Sandwich of the Spanish gastronomy of 2023, whose main ingredient is this gastronomic jewel. It can be hot or cold, but it must be tasty and creative, and it can be tasted in Joselito stores or prepared at home with the winning recipe. The contestants will have to be able to surprise the members of the jury, that is, to reinvent the "Joselito" ham sandwich.

Creativity, juiciness, ingenuity and originality of the products used or the ease of replicating their creations in different spaces will be some of the aspects that the jury, made up of professionals from the sector, chefs and gastronomic journalists, will evaluate. The Best Ham Sandwich Joselito 2023 will receive a Joselito Vintage ham aged over 72 months.
