Since the I Taller de los Sentidos in the year 2000 the purpose has always been that non-professional could known the traceability of the food that was shown at differents workshops at Salon Gourmets.The Children's workshops, were developed with such objetive aimed at schoolchildren between 8 and 12 years old from the Community of Madrid. Children learn about the product in a closer way, seeing, touching and smelling as well as learning the basic principles of a healthy diet and of course, tasting their work, the funniest part of the workshop.
This year the participating children will learn to make cheese and bread. In the Baking Fresh workshop. They will learn about the benefits of tuna thanks to Balfegó, and the benefits of honey under the Galician Protexida Mel Xeographic Indication Regulatory Council. This is a didactic and interactive experience that exposes the world of bees and Honey from Galicia to the little ones as future consumers. Children will learn the process of obtaining honey and the materials used by the beekeeper. They will taste two samples of honey too. The three steps of a tasting will be explained to them and they will learn that not all types of honeys are the same.
