Grandes Pagos Gallegos is a group of three, independent Galician wineries making wine, both white and red, from indigenous Galician varieties, such as Albariño, Godello, Treixadura and Mencía. Our wineries are located in the DOs of Rías Baixas, Ribeiro and Monterrei. They share the same winemaking philosophy, which is very respectful of the environment and the best traditions of our ancestors. We do not use any herbicides or systemic fungicides. We pick all our grapes by hand and have a strict control of temperature in the winery during fermentation. We also allow our white wines to rest on their own fine lees for different lengths of time after fermentation, prior to bottling. We choose sites with the best solar orientation for our vineyards, many of which are in historic locations and usually on slopes. Our wines have received the highest awards and ratings from international wine contests and publications, including Wine Spectator, Decanter, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, IWC and the Peñin and Gourmets Guides.
