Red wine ,combination of different clones of the Tempranillo grape variety. 12 months oak

This wine’s main characteristic comes from its atypical mixture, most likely to be unique in the world. It is the result of the combination of different clones of the Tempranillo grape variety, located in Spanish territory and adapted to La Mancha´s climate. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months.

A very intense and deep red color, almost opaque. Strong on the nose, with a blend of ripe red berry scent, a hint of caramel and the roast coming from the excellent quality of the oakwood. Its complexity and excellence is the result of its different grape clones. Strong and tasty on the mouth, full and bulky body. It adds a special and delicate feeling

Encomienda de Cervera is located in the heart of the Massif Volcanic of Calatrava Estate, at an altitude between 750 and 850 meters above sea level, towards the end of the noble and cultural city of Almagro that borders with Sierra de Arzollar and the Cañada Real Soriana, among valleys and hills covered with oak trees and junipers, rosemary, thyme, and much more. There is the view of black soil of volcanic origin and red ochre (Almagre) that, according to some historians, give the city of Almagro its name, as well as limestones and rocky areas. All of it located under the detailed watch of the Maar de la Hoya de Cervera Volcano, declared Natural Monument in 1993, and still waters from one the main currents of the Guadiana river, the Jabalón river. The chequered orography, made up of its three river basins, creates a peculiar microclimate with cool nights, compensating for the he

Encomienda de Cervera Estate was created in 1758 as a result of the merger among Hacienda de Cervera, Cañada de Zentinar, Heredad de Vilena, Hoya de la Cruz and Coto del Marqués de Cervera. Later, Barranco del Puerco, native of Mesa Maestral of Calatrava Estate, joins the merger with 1,200 hectares. Back then, the estate already had olive groves with two thousand three hundred and seventy five olive trees, an oil press, a country house, and a grove with about ten thousand black and white poplars. At the end of the XIX Century, there was a 22 hectare vineyard and a 200,000 liter winery.

The old vineyards have been renovated and expanded to 50 hectares, adding the traditional Tempranillo and new varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petit Verdot, and Graciano. The best hills and altitudes have been chosen for each variety for their growing stage. In order to choose the best soil for each variety, extensive edaphologic studies have been performed on the soil to select among the volcanic, clay-calcareous, and rocky present at the estate. All vineyards are in trellis, oriented to the North/South. They have controlled trickle irrigation systems by humidity sensors at different levels. We take great care of our vineyards, resulting in grapes and wines of the best quality, without losing identity and tradition. The winery, from the XIX Century, has been restored, expanded, and modern fermentation installations have been added, always respecting our environment, and improving the quality of our wines.

We achieve mineral wines and high polyphenol content by joining the most advanced techniques (ganimede) with traditional methods (cement vessels for malolactic fermentation) the winery comes from the 19th century and has been restored.
