Emmentaler AOP URTYP®: the Swiss original with an authentic taste

The history of Swiss Emmentaler AOP dates back to 1291, the year that cheese from the Emme valley was first mentioned in an official document. The Emmentaler AOP Consortium has taken up the unique tradition of the original Emmentaler to create its top-quality Emmentaler AOP URTYP®. With a pure and aromatic taste, its maturation process lasts minimum one year including at least 7 months in a humid storage facility.
Switzerland Cheese Marketing, SL Spain, headquartered in Bern, is responsible for the promotion of Swiss Cheese in the Spanish and Portuguese markets. There are 430 varieties of cheese in Switzerland: in Spain we find Appenzeller®, Emmentaler AOP, Le Gruyère AOP, L'Etivaz AOP, Sbrinz AOP, Tête de Moine AOP and Vacherin Fribourgeois AOP.
